Getting Closer!

At 10 weeks and 3 days, I am more than ready to be out of the first trimester. I am still sick most of the day, although I can eat more than crackers now, and I am tired all.the.time. I went to the doctor yesterday (3.29.11) and heard the heartbeat of Baby Nemo (the new nickname Emma has come up with). 170 bpm - loud and clear! It is so reassuring to hear that amazing sound. Emma wasn't too sure what she was hearing, but as we get further, I think she'll think it's cool. Here are some of her recent thoughts on the pregnancy:

~ When pulling into the parking lot at the doctors office, she yelled, "My baby brother is here!"
~ When eating foods she likes, she tries to stick them in my belly button. Her reason - I want the baby to have some too, Mommy!
~ If you ask her where her baby is, she lifts UP my shirt to show people. Thankfully I have caught her before she's actually shown my belly to anyone, but it's still not fun to have her attempt to lift my shirt for everyone to see.
~ She absolutely, 100% believes she has a baby brother in there. If you ask her what about a baby sister instead these are some of the responses you might hear:
   1. No, how about just a baby brother.
   2. Um... My baby brother will push her back in. (don't ask me where the logic behind it is)
   3. I will need another train. (she told Santa she wanted a "baby brother and a train")
   4. Baby brothers make me happy. Just a baby brother, how about that?

This poor baby and Emma may be confused for quite some time if it ends up being a girl. She is pretty set on having a brother that I am nervous that it'll break her little heart to not get that. This is part of the reason I don't want to find out the sex of the baby. The other part is that it's just fun to be surprised.

Belly pictures will begin soon. So stay tuned for pictures. Soon. I promise.
