9 Weeks and 2 Days

I hope everyone is right when they say that your pregnancy flies by once you get out of your first trimester because right now, October seems so unbelievably far away. I'm still nauseous most of the time and I'm tired all the time. I haven't had too many food aversions, mustard makes me gag and trying a hard boiled egg a couple weeks ago wasn't a good idea :-) No cravings yet either. The bloat/belly is starting to show more. I can no longer suck in my belly and maternity and yoga pants will be staples in my daily clothing attire from here on out. And I think that Nike and Adidas may be getting some serious business from me this summer since they have the most amazingly comfortable flip flops ever.

I'm already starting to make lists of things we will need for this baby. It's hard to pick things you need when you don't know what you're having, but at this point, we are choosing to be surprised just like we were with Emma. I think that it's more fun that way. I love that the doctor let Nathan be the one to tell me "It's a girl!" There are few surprises that are good in pregnancy and delivery. Finding out the gender of the baby is a good surprise. And, just as before, we'll be keeping names a secret again. Don't even bother asking because you won't get an answer you'll like :-) Not that we have names picked out yet anyway.

As for the rest of the family, Emma is growing increasingly defiant as she learns how to express herself. Sometimes we have to laugh at her, but other times, she proves that toddlers are sometimes a little "terrible". I told her I was going to sell her to the circus and she looked at me very sternly and said, "No you don't!" - She knows there's no way I'd ever be able to give her up, even on the days she's driving me up the wall. Nathan is busy working. Working, working, working. Emma is becoming more of a Daddy's Girl every day and is ALWAYS asking when Daddy will be home. She hears the garage open and runs to the kitchen waiting for him to come inside. It's sweet and I love seeing her face light up when she knows he's home.

Okay, well, the laundry isn't going to fold itself!  Until next week!
