It's been too long...

since I wrote a blog post for this family blog. My bad. It's been super busy for us. We've had different activities on and off-campus and I just forget to update it. There are four days until Christmas and I have a few moments before I hit the sack to give you a brief update on our little family. :-)

Earlier this month, we FINALLY got to pick out our own Christmas tree on a farm and it was so much fun! It was almost dark and I have no idea where we were, but the guy who went with us let us pick out whatever tree we wanted and waited while we compared our final two. I love the smell of a real tree and I am so glad that we got to take Emma to experience getting a REAL tree. We had fun decorating the tree and she put the topper on.
As you can see, she took her job seriously :-)

And, as we've shown off in the past, Emma is a total cheerleader in training. The picture below is her "Cheerleader Smile". She calls it that, she came up with it all on her own. She LOVES to go to basketball games because she loves to wear her cheer uniform. She has two Washington Husky jersey style tops, a Seahawks cheer uniform and a Seahawks jersey as well and I'm pretty sure if she could, she'd wear them everyday.  She works very hard to make sure she has a great smile and can shake her booty just right. She's also trying to do flips, but that only really means that she gets into a downward dog type yoga position and lifts up one leg. Hey, if it works for her, it works for me.

We are now finishing up getting everything ready for Christmas. Splitting the holidays between two families is exhausting and we haven't even done it yet. We have do figure out what goes where, what to pack, whether we let her open her presents from us before we leave or if we bring them with so she has something from us to open. Her presents are pretty much ready, Nathan's are ready and I don't know about mine. To be honest, I'm not sure if I've got presents, but I'll try to believe that Nathan got me something. ;-)

If you don't get another update before Christmas, we wish you all a WONDERFUL Christmas and a very happy new year!
