Yeah, we were exposed to swine flu while we were all at camp, hence the lovely picture of us with the team in masks. It was definitely not the most pleasant news to receive nor was it fun to have to be quarantined for a few days in 100+ degree weather! UGH!
The three of us were the only ones treated as Emma and I are both in high risk categories, Emma due to her age and me due to my asthma. That meant Nathan had to be treated so he wasn't re-exposing Emma to it once she got better. Tamiflu is not fun to take and it's a ridiculous price, but I'm glad that we were able to have our symptoms shortened by the medication.
We're all doing much better now. I'm sure it was God's way of telling all of us we needed to take some time and get some much needed rest. Emma still coughs in her sleep sometimes, mostly when she's in her carseat, and Nathan and I still have the phlegm to work out, but we're all feeling mostly normal. :-) We were able to at least get out and get into some air conditioned buildings here and there to stay cool. I have heard that the next round of the flu is supposed to be worse come fall, so hopefully now that we've had it it'll be like we're immune now. :-) I can hope right? :-)
