Mom... I Love You.

"But sometimes you just really creep me out when you won't let me have my strawberry chapstick."

Yes, those words (including the "Mom, I love you") were uttered by my 3 1/2 year old. What the heck?! Where does she come up with this stuff? The girl never seizes to amaze me with her hilarity.

For instance:
We attend a ladies devotions group on Thursday mornings at her friends', Thomas and Andrew's, house. So this past Thursday, our conversation went like this:
Me: Emma, if you want to go to Thomas and Andrew's house, you need to get up and go potty. Then you need to get dressed. Okay?
Emma: Mom, do you see it's still dark outside? That means it's still nighttime and I still need to sleep. I'm going to snuggle with Daddy.
Me: ::Stares at her blankly with no idea how to respond::

Then there's the new outfits she wants to put together. A bright pink and green shirt with a blue and black plaid skirt or her UW Cheer outfit with brown cowboy boots. The girl is all about style and attitude. She IS my mini-me.

At least she is starting to like getting her hair done. Her request is always for two "Pig-tonies" which translates to Pigtails. I can't argue with her about it some days because it just needs to be done and out of her face, but I still like to braid it or style it in some other ways. She usually pulls it out and ruins it after an hour or two though. It makes all the effort not worth it and I get upset, but at least for the hour it was cute, right?

I really should have started blogging all of her quotes, but I've facebooked them, so I'll have to figure out how to go back and copy them to the blog. Em really is a kick in the pants. She's also cute. So is Micaiah. That's the only thing I can come up with at 11:47 pm to transition into some cute Christmas photos:
