...Well whaddya know...

Emma is seriously starting to amaze me. The kid is like a walking, talking person these days! I would like to think it's because of Nathan and myself, but I'm pretty sure it's also the fact that she spends so much time at EBC with all the college kids. This girl is way ahead of her time. ;-) Since I took over the cafe at EBC, we've been around campus 5 days a week, so Miss Socialite Em has made plenty of new friends. Her favorites right now are Christian, Kyle and Katie. She says hi to everyone who walks in the door and has to sit with them for at least a minute while they're there. Christian is her favorite person to sit with. She's got an empty shelf that she goes straight to when she sees him coming and when he comes in, she goes, "Sit me!" and pats next to her. It's great! Of course she also made a new friend Sunday when we had a couple guys over to watch the Blazer's game. She's decided she also likes David. She actually sat with him for quite awhile, which is something she doesn't do with just anyone. My kid, the flirt. :-) I'd venture to guess that Nathan has no idea how many guys his daughter flirts with, haha.

She also started saying three word sentances other than "Love you Mommy" or "Love you Daddy", she can thank specific people, say "I like ___________" and she likes to say her nightime prayers. She just learned to sing "Happy Birthday You" (yes, I know that there's no 'to' - she doesn't sing that part). She loves to sing, as long as you're not trying to record her and she'll dance all over if you let her. She's an entertainer, that's for sure. She got a playhouse for Christmas and loves it. She has baby dolls and plenty of things that go in her little cottage. She actually likes to play in her room by herself now. It's great!

She's also well aware that she's doing something she's not supposed to and looks right at you before she proceeds with her bad idea. Case and point, she was standing by a shelf at the bookstore/cafe yesterday and Adele and I were looking at something, in less than ten seconds, she'd climbed up one shelf! She climbed right back down when I yelled her name in a serious tone. She also ducked her head and walked right to me. I explained that it wasn't safe and that next time it was a 'time out'. She tried to climb it again an hour later. Time outs don't really work quite yet, but she does know that if she has a fit, that she has a place to sit and can't come talk to us until she's done. She calms down pretty quick.

Nathan and I are keeping busy. Nathan leaves for Honolulu on the 2nd of February and doesn't come back til that Monday, I think. Why Emma and I don't get to go too is beyond  me. "Bitter, party of one!?" Yup, that's me! It sucks knowing he'll be enjoying the Hawaiian Islands, whether he's at a conference or not, while I'm stuck in stupid Eugene all by myself. All I have to say is that there are two conferences in Anaheim this year, one in June and one in November and he is NOT leaving Emma and I behind. Disneyland cannot be sacrificed :-)

Well, this post is definitely longer than average. I'm trying to think of something comedic, but nothing comes to mind. My inspiration is lacking at this time. Hhhhmmmm... Guess I'll have to come up with something for next time. I personally feel like I'm much funnier in person, but I suppose thinking I'm funny probably means that I'm not nearly as funny as I think I am. Oh well...

I hate when there is nothing "comedic" to say! It is no surprise to see what Emma's personality is starting to be like. She has grown up so much! I can't believe her birthday is coming up again!. Well better get back to my homework.

Love and miss you all!
