At 38 1/2 weeks, I am more than ready to be done. I tell the baby at least three times a day that it's time for him to come out. So far, he is proving to be as stubborn as both his parents and big sister. :-) His big sister asking if it's time for him to come at least twice a day doesn't help the anxiousness of waiting for him either! He'll be here soon enough though and we're all more than ready for him to arrive. His stuff is all washed and ready for him and the bags are all packed and ready to head to the hospital! I can't believe that it's finally almost time to meet my Little Boy! AH!
On a totally different note, Emma has been really into having invisible friends lately. Big Bird was hanging out with us the other day as well as Barney, Belle, Cinder-lella... We just seem to have lots of fun with friends. She usually only has one "friend" at a time, which makes me laugh. Sometimes she makes up names for friends, but I can't even begin to attempt to spell or pronounce the names. It's very interesting.
I haven't been as good about blogging her quotes lately, but I'll have to hunt them down on my facebook page and post them. They are guaranteed to give you a good laugh. She's been very funny lately, she loves to tell us random stories and silly things. She cracks me up on a regular basis. She also seems to be going through a major fit throwing phase lately. She's been throwing some pretty awesome fits, complete with screaming, crying, kicking... It is super hard to be serious when she's throwing those fits because they're so darn entertaining. :-) She is definitely three and we are feeling every second of it.
She's incredibly excited about being a big sister though. She cannot wait for her little brother to arrive. As I said above, she asks every.single.day if it's time for her baby brother to come. She knows that we will go to the hospital and the "Baby Doctor" as she calls him, will help him come. She's pretty much boiled it down to this,
"Mommy, the baby doctor will cut your tummy open and take the baby out?"
"Yes, Emma, that's the general idea."
"OH! Will he put you back together?"
"Yes, yes he will..."
We've tried to be as kid-friendly as we can be in explaining what will happen. She seems to understand the concept though. We took her to an expectant siblings course at the hospital. She got to see the Labor and Delivery rooms and the Mom and Baby rooms (where we'll be after baby gets here), so she knows where we'll be while we're having the baby. She got to make a "Welcome Baby" card and Daddy helped her dress a baby doll, so she got to learn how to do that. The nurse who was teaching the class told the kids that the nurses love to have help from Big Brothers and Big Sisters when they give the baby baths or change diapers. It's super cute at how excited she is to help with that.
Here's some pictures from her class:
